Next to the Philips NatLab and in the heart of Strijp-S, the S-West project will soon be springing up. A combination of living and working in four buildings on the former Philips site in Eindhoven.
For decades, Strijp-S was a closed stronghold where Philips was in charge, behind barriers and fences. Equipment, glass, cardboard and Philite (Philips’ proprietary Bakelite) were produced there and parts were stored. The many company buildings from then have largely been preserved and have been given a second life. People are now working hard and living in these, playing sports, shopping and enjoying life to the full.
(summary) In the heart of Strijp-S on the Torenallee and the Ingenieur Kalffstraat, MRP Development is developing four individually designed buildings. They will carry the real Philips names as tribute: Benjamin, Maria, Frederik and Frits. Together they offer 235 apartments, ranging from two-room apartments of around 50 square meters to spacious penthouses of over 220 square meters, and around 750 square meters of commercial space.
